When it comes to property assessments for insurance surveys and risk evaluations, roof conditions shouldn’t be treated as a quick checkbox.
Roof inspections are a critical component of accurate underwriting and claims validation, which is why our inspectors are trained to provide comprehensive, professional-grade documentation that insurance carriers can rely on.
From residential homes to complex commercial structures, our inspectors have the tools and techniques to get the job done right the first time—saving carriers time, money, and the hassle of re-inspections.
What Sets Our Inspectors Apart
Ongoing Training
Our inspectors undergo rigorous training to ensure they understand not only how to identify roof hazards, but also how to document them in a way that supports clear, defensible decisions. Their training is interactive, readily available, and presented in multiple formats (webinars, videos, images, etc.)
Expert Use of Equipment
From camera poles to measuring wheels, our inspectors are trained to use specialized gear that ensures safe access and accurate documentation—even when roof access is limited.
For their safety and the safety of others, ladders are no longer a recommended tool. If a roofline is inaccessible by anything other than drone, we work with a partner who is licensed and can obtain necessary approvals for drone surveys.
Detailed Photo Documentation
We teach our team to capture high-quality, top-down images from multiple angles, free of glare and obstructions. These photos aren’t just snapshots—they’re evidence.
In addition, they are taught to always double check their photos before they leave the site, reducing the need and expense of return trip/s.
Hazard Identification
Our inspectors know what to look for—blistering, pooling water, cracked shingles, improper flashing, and more. They’re trained to distinguish between cosmetic issues and structural concerns.
Material Knowledge
Understanding the lifespan and vulnerabilities of different roofing materials helps our inspectors provide context that’s critical for underwriting and claims.
Supplemental Reporting for Wind & Hail
When required, our team documents roof geometry, age, anchors, parapets, and nearby projectile sources—ensuring carriers have everything they need for accurate assessments.
Individualized Training
We track client revisions to roof inspection reports. If documentation is missing or incorrect, one of our regional directors works with the inspector on area/s they can improve.
Quality Assurance
We also track overall trends via our quality assurance department. When we notice an emerging issue, we send it to our training team to address in the next training webinar.
Why Carriers Choose Us
We don’t just train our inspectors to take pictures—we train them to deliver the results we expect and the reliable data clients need.
“These roof photos are exactly what we were looking for. There are at least 5 unique roof photos included, which show the overview and close-up of the different slopes, and the metal roof over the front porch was included as well. Really nice job!” –State Farm, May 2025
